Values in Action
Values in Action (VIA) are learning experiences that support pupils’ development as socially responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to the community, through the learning and application of values, knowledge and skills. VIA encourages students’ ownership of their learning, and how they contribute to the community. As part of VIA, students reflect on their experience, the values they have put into practice, and how they can continue to contribute meaningfully.
The school plans for all levels to engage in VIA activities through 3 domains of Self, School and Community. As pupils progress to higher levels, their involvement extends to the school and community. The Service Learning pedagogy is used to enhance the quality of VIA experience and lays the foundation for pupil-initiated VIA activities at P5 and P6 levels. These learning opportunities, which involve moral feeling and moral action, contribute to the citizenship development of every pupil.
